Almost half million of autonomous and companies closed 2024 with losses
According to the last Barometer of the General Council of the Schools of Administrative Agents, published in November of 2024, estimates that near of 480.000 companies in Spain, mainly SMEs, finalised the year 2024 with losses. Besides, the report alerts that 67.000 businesses find on the brink of bankruptcy, reflecting a critical situation for the business tissue of the country.
Factors that explain these figures
- Increase of operative costs
The encarecimiento of prime matters and supplies, together with the inflation generalised, has reduced significantly the margins of profit. This phenomenon has been stood out so much by the Council of Agents as by reports of CEPYME, that aim to an especially severe impact in the microempresas.
- Difficulties to access to financing
The increase of the types of interest and the conditions more restrictivas for the obtaining of credits have limited the capacity of investment of the small companies, according to the Bank of Spain and studios of CEPYME.
- Normative and political uncertainty
According to the report Perspectives Spain 2024, elaborated by KPMG and CEOE, 48% of the employers consider that the juridical insecurity is his main worry, followed of the political unsteadiness and the changes regulatorios constant, that hamper the planning and business operating capacity.
